Eisenhower State Park, Texas
3/27/2023 to 4/2/2023
First time we've been to this state park - which will be true from now one. Each park will be new to us. This is also the last park in Texas before moving into Oklahoma. Has a large lake, but we weren't able to even get in the water. Too much wind and rain. Our campsite had a view of the lake, but it wasn't near the water. Transporting our paddle boards and our new kayak on the CRV would have been a bit time consuming. We ended up making a lot of trips into Denison and Sherman Texas. We went to Denison to pick up mail (and the kayak) at the post office, to get groceries, and also to meet a mobile notary and sign our part of the paperwork for closing on our Santee house. My iPad pretty much died and I decided to get a computer so I could become a blogger. Went to Best Buy in Sherman, Tx to buy the computer and then went back twice for help with it. We did get in a lot of hiking and some electric bike riding. Also did laundry with our portable washing machine.
Update 4/1: We did finally try out the new kayak. Was too windy and cold to stay in long. But will be nice when the weather warms up. Turned out to be a beautiful afternoon for hiking.
This park was named for President Eisenhower because he was born in Denison. In Kansas we'll stay at another Eisenhower State Park because he considered Kansas his home.
Hiking trails have a lot of rocks and ups and down.
We love our backyard:
