Nolan River State Park, Mammoth Cave, Kentucky

Did you know that Bowling Green, Kentucky, is the only place in the world where Corvettes are made? Here is a picture of one of the cars in the Corvette Museum we visited.
We were in Bowling Green, which is about an hour away from Nolan Lake State Park, because I had a high blood pressure scare. I discovered my blood pressure was 140/80 when I took it at one of the Walmart automatic machines a couple of weeks ago. I have a cuff/stethescope in the RV, so I've been taking it pretty compulsively since then. It got up as high as 160/92. I had a virtual visit with the PA in my Austin doctor's office, who ordered blood work and medication. She and I figured out a lab in Bowling Green where she could send the orders. She sent the prescription to HEB in Bee Cave, and they sent it to a Walmart in Bowling Green. I'm always amazed at how well that system for getting medication works on the road. Yesterday my blood pressure was 120/70. Hope to keep it that low or lower. I'd like to get it back to my normal in the 100/60 range.
Nolan River State Park is a very small park near Bowling Green, Kentucky. People I met who come here often call it a "jewel". Here is a picture of our large, private site on the river.
We paddleboarded and kayaked several times. Much easier to take the boards right down to the lake instead of having to put them on top of the CRV and drive to the put in spot.
The is an 8-9 hike/bike system, but there is only one way in, so you have to hike the first loop to get to next, and the next, which was too far for us to walk. We enjoyed the first loop, which we walked every day.
There was an interesting "escape room" near the entrance to the trail system. Haven't seen that before.
