Valley View RV Park, Jarrell, Texas

 11/20/2023 to 11/22/2023

Valley View is a huge, flat parking lot divided up into RV spots 24 by 50 feet rectangles. It is actually a very nice RV park right off I-35.  We figured it was a good way to help us appreciate any of the differences we find at the Henly RV Park - our home for the next five months or so. Many of the places we've stayed on the way back to Texas have confirmed that we really like the contrasting state park life. We know we aren't going to find that life in a place where we can stay put long enough to have knee surgery

Map of Valley View.

Annie's favorite spot by a little tree in the sea of concrete.

We didn't find any hiking close by. We went to several parks - Berry Springs about 10 miles south in Georgetown, and the Chalk Ridge Falls Park Trail about 10 miles north in Salado.
Interesting bridge.

Waterfall (if you know where to look).

Lots of steps.

We've had quite a few stink bugs in the RV for the past couple of months. An infestation is 40 or more (according to Google), and we see maybe 5 a day, so not too bad. At first we gathered them up and set them free outside (which we try to do with all bugs). But they seemed to keep finding their way back inside, so we started crushing them. That (crushing them) releashes an odor that is similar to cilantro for some people. Some people say it smells like sulfur and ammonia or rancid meat. Scott smells nothing, and I smell cilantro, so it doesn't bother us. If we get any visitors, they may be greeted by an unwelcomed smell.

Stink bug on our ceiling.
